::Precisely, I was “perdida” when I found the 🦎 Iguana. I had arrived for the very first time on my life to a place where I had to catch a water taxi to get there. Already had a reservation at another place through a popular platform, that ended on refund because my messages were never answered. I was wet from the rain, it was getting dark and pretty cold. The Iguana was the place I saw after trying to find the other place, walking on unknown paths shivering, weary and hungry. I admit I went to the iguana and I had an angry attitude, but they helped me get a private room, hot shower and wifi!! The thing is that my trip was focused on getting an altitude scuba diving certification and I didn’t know that the Iguana had the only dive shop on site. Perfect. The next day I met accidentally who was going to be my course buddy, then another buddy, the instructor who was great and patient , and even one more buddy showed up to add to the maximum ratio the new instructor had had ever! The dives were amazing, is not about fish, is about everything else what makes it great. The rest of the days were fantastic, made friends, felt relaxed for the first time in a very long time. Probably the best hostel/hotel I’ve ever been. No crazy parties, just one big family. The location is fantastic.

::The views each day are simply majestic. The people here, guests, owners and staff, become friends. I came here in 2020. Stayed three weeks. Met new and dear friends. So now, in 2021, I simply returned to calm, peace and beauty. Plus old and new friends.

::There is something for everyone here! So convenient to have the scuba shop in-house. Great staff, clean bathrooms. They have everything from a treehouse cabana ($6/night) all the way to private rooms/villas. Right off the Santa Cruz dock, too! Would recommend.
